Expanded Polypropylene has great strength to weight ratios, this makes it a go to material for many component parts and elevates it to more than just a packing material (even though it can do this extremely well too).

Here at Mather Engineering we have worked with various Automotive companies manufacturing anything from bumpers, side impact pads, steering cowls or boot liners to full driver and passenger sports seats. Various customers require insert moulding of metal wires, threaded inserts or metal plates this allows complex components to be achieved with the versatile material.
